2018-2019 – Budget Consultation Process
As well as those final weeks of winter and ever-increasing daylight, February is also the time when we begin our annual budget consultation process. 2018-2019 marks the fifth year in which SD10 and its Board of Education have engaged in this consultative process of gathering input from our employees and our parent community in order to help inform the next year’s budget.
By meeting with staff and parents in each of four schools – NES, NSS, Lucerne and EES – we are able listen to our staff and parents’ voices. Your input helps us identify needs at each school, and gives feedback from the perspective of your group, which is then shared with the Finance Committee.
A multi-partner Finance Committee also meets three times from February to April. The Committee comprised of representatives from the ALTA, CUPE, ALELA and DPAC gives input from their representative groups. In addition, we share information about various aspects of our budget planning and forecasting, and share potential budget scenarios.
