New Curriculum Timelines from BC Ministry of Education

The BC Education Plan has been in place for a number of years now, with the work on transforming education in BC to better meet the needs of all students well underway across the province and in SD 10.

 

Our Ministry of Education has consulted with top educational researchers, as well as parents, teachers, support staff, school trustees, and our school and senior leaders to plan and develop new curriculum for all BC students.  Over 100 BC teachers have been involved in writing the new BC curriculum, and starting this September, the K-9 curriculum is ready for teachers to use and explore in their classrooms, while drafts of the new Grade 10-12 curriculum are available for feedback.

 

Provincial assessments and reporting about student learning are also being reviewed.

 

The timelines for implementation of the new curriculum have just been announced as in the chart below:
