Reconciliation Through Art

2014 was the Year of Reconciliation in Canada. SD 10’s Reconciliation Through Art project weaves threads of students learning from elders about residential schools and then transforming their understanding in a wide range of art forms. Led by Aboriginal Support teachers, Ryan Willman and Signy Fredrickson in collaboration with classroom teachers across the district, students from Grades 4-12 share their deepened understanding of Aboriginal history and culture and the impact of residential schools on our society.
