Schools in SD 10 remain open today with all bus routes operating. Most schools are air conditioned (NES, BES and EES), while NSS and Lucerne have good climate control protocols in leaving windows open early in the morning and closing as summer heat begins. We regularly monitor temperatures in schools throughout the year ad will continue to do so for the remaining two days in session this school year.

Busses will run with windows open for air circulation.

Parents and children as well as staff are reminded to drink plenty of water, stay in the shade when outdoors if possible, and not overexert on hot days.

Should any parents have concerns with the heat and wish to keep their children at home or pick them up from school, they are requested to contact the school.

We will continue to closely monitor the current heat wave situation and advise parents accordingly if needed.
