Featuring an innovative Academy program in Outdoor Education and Entrepreneurship, students in Grades 10-12 make the halls of Burton School ring with the sound of student voices, and fill their outdoor and indoor classrooms alike with energy and enthusiasm.
Teacher, Dorian Boswell leads the students in an innovative real-world learning program. The Burton Outdoor Education Academy program teaches students relevant skills in Ground Search and Rescue, First Aid, Traffic Control and Flagging, and also fosters learning in entrepreneurship, small business and marketing. Students in the program market their products at annual trade fairs including the Vancouver Boat Show, the Vernon Rod and Gun Club and participate in Junior Dragons Den.
