Letter to Parents, Students and School Staff from IHA – May 26, 2020

Good evening parents and care-givers,

Please find attached a letter for all parents, students and school staff regarding public health information as we transition back to in-school instruction in our schools starting June 1st.

Although in SD 10 about 30% of our learners have been attending school over the past eight weeks to get additional support or to support children of Essential Service Workers, we are transitioning to Stage 3 of the Ministry of Education’s Restart Plan.

We are looking forward to welcoming more of our students back into schools next week for this final month of the school year. Our teachers and support staff have done an excellent job of supporting our learners remotely. Now that Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, has indicated that schools are safe to re-open, we are busily preparing for in-person classes with teachers.

School Administrators, Teachers, Parents and Students – May 26, 2020

Each school’s principal or vice principal and our teachers will be communicating with parents and guardians before June 1st with information about next week.

Kindest regards,
Terry

Terry Taylor, Superintendent of Schools
