Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff,
Today the Minster of Education, Rob Fleming announced that the province’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic will now include suspension of in class learning for all schools. His message to parents, guardians and staff can be found here: https://cdn.cyberimpact.com/clients/29367/public/cab73408-7860-4e5c-15a1-aa9217f3e704/files/Update/2020_Q1_Jan_Mar/218690-covid-letter.pdf
What that means in School District 10 and around the province, is that learning will continue using other means after the regular spring break period ends on March 30th and that schools will not re-open as usual after the break.
Our district Leadership Team is working on a plan for the Continuity of Learning as is now required by the Ministry of Education. Most likely this will involve providing learning materials online and having students interact with their teachers digitally. More on this plan will be shared with you in the coming days and no later than the middle of next week in preparation for the end of the spring break period.
In the meantime, please keep yourselves and your families well and safe at home. As our Provincial Health authorities tell us all, it is everyone doing their part that will allow us to make progress on flattening the curve of this pandemic.
Take care everyone, and be well,
Terry Taylor
Superintendent of Schools
