Special Regular Meeting – September 28 at 7 pm re: Nakusp Child Care Centre proposal

Special Regular Meeting Agenda – September 28, 2020 at 7 pm

At the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education held on September 22, 2020, the Board of Education arranged to have a Special Regular meeting in order to vote on approving or not approving the Nakusp Child Care Centre HUB. Since Trustee Gascon had just joined the Board Tuesday evening through the recent by-election, this delay allows all trustees time to review all the pertinent information and consider the matter thoughtfully before the Monday, September 28th Special Regular meeting.

As the public may be aware, the district has been notified that funding has been approved in the amount of $3 million from MCFD New Spaces Child Care Fund and $150,000 from Columbia Basin Trust. The Board has called a Special Regular meeting therefore on Monday, September 28th at 7 pm to determine whether to proceed with the Child Care project.

Should you wish to attend the meeting, please note due to physical distancing requirements, all members of partner groups and the public are kindly requested to attend Board meetings by Zoom. The link for the meeting is provided on the attached agenda.
